FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Having defensible space is necessary because it reduces the amount of flammable vegetation near a home or other structures, making it less likely that a wildfire will spread to and damage or destroy the property. Defensible space also provides an area for firefighters to work and increases the chances of a home surviving a wildfire.
-
According to Cal Fire:
“California law requires that homeowners in the State Responsibility Area [to] clear out flammable materials such as brush or vegetation around their buildings to 100 feet (or the property line) to create a defensible space buffer. This helps to slow the progress of an approaching wildfire and keeps firefighters safe while they defend your home.”
The 100 ft defensible space requirement is divided into different zones, which may vary depending on local regulations. If you're unsure if your property meets the legal guidelines for defensible space in Nor Cal, please contact us for assistance.

There are several techniques and tools that can be used to create defensible space and reduce the risk of wildfire damage to property:
Clearing: This involves removing dead or dry vegetation, leaves, and debris from around structures and other areas.
Thinning: This involves reducing the density of trees and other vegetation in an area, which can slow the spread of wildfire.
Mowing and mastication: This involves using equipment to keep vegetation short and reduce fuel for a fire.
Mulching: This involves using equipment to chop up and spread vegetation to reduce fuel for a fire.
Pruning: This involves removing lower branches from trees and other vegetation to reduce the risk of wildfire damage.
Fire breaks: This involves creating physical barriers using tools like shovels, chainsaws and bulldozers to stop or slow the spread of wildfire.
Fire-resistant landscaping: This involves planting vegetation that is less likely to burn, such as drought-tolerant plants or plants with high moisture content.

Yes we are licensed and insured to remove even the largest trees from your property. We have best equipment to get the job done right without affecting the surrounding vegetation.
-
The process for removing a tree typically involves the following steps:
Inspection: A member of our crew will inspect the tree to determine if it needs to be removed and assess the best way to remove it safely.
Planning: We will then plan the removal process, taking into consideration factors such as the size of the tree, the location of the tree, and any potential hazards or obstacles.
Preparation: Then we will prepare the area around the tree for removal, including removing any nearby obstacles or debris.
Cutting: Our crew will cut the tree into manageable sections using a chainsaw.
Removal of sections: Using ropes and pulleys we then lower the sections of the tree to the ground.
Clean up: The debris from the tree and the surrounding area is then removed. The stump can also be removed depending on your request.
